About Us
Growing up riding horses, Dr. Winnick always knew she wanted to become an equine veterinarian. After obtaining her B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia, Dr. Winnick went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UGA in 2007, graduating with honors. After graduation, Dr. Winnick chose to further her professional training in Massachusetts, where she was selected for a one year equine internship by the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, during which she gained more specific training in equine medicine and lameness.
Dr. Winnick graduated in December 2010 from the Chi Institute, the nations leading authority on veterinary acupuncture. Dr. Winnick believes in integrating conventional Western medicine with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, feeling that incorporating both modalities expands her diagnostic and treatment capabilites. TCVM offers a unique perspective on many cases and, in many situations, may provide treatment options where conventional therapies have not been effective or are cost prohibitive. She is very excited to be adding acupuncture to her practice as she has already had some terrific results!
